Face to face, one on one communication is the fastest, tried and proven method of reaching spoken fluency in a foreign language. Our natural method is to put the Student face to face (on video) with the Teacher of their choice. In this way, both parties are in a learning cohesive atmosphere at the time and place of their choosing (usually the comfort of their own home). Beyond those parameters, it’s up to the teacher and learner to determine what particular method they will use to advance toward the student’s language goals. Some learn best by having structured classes surrounding specific topics. Others would rather spend their time catching up on gossip. Whatever the content of the classes ends up being, the natural method works exceedingly well, and provides measurable results.

Human’s have been perfecting language acquisition for thousands of years. To prove they’ve gotten it down, one only has to recognize the fact that babies usually start using their first words after they are 1 year old. A mere three years later however, by age 4 most children could be considered fluent in their first language.
With that in mind, The Number 1 excuse used by adults for being unable to learn another language is that children are naturally more adept at language learning, and that the adult’s “language learning window” has passed. If one stops to really look at the data however, kids spend well over 10,000 hours acquiring their native tongue. That’s really not that fast at all. Furthermore, they are immersed in the language 16 hours a day, face to face with a live, supportive teacher to give them the correct answer or offer new vocabulary alongside obvious visual cues. Give any adult that same set of circumstances, and it’s fair to say that they could effectively learn pretty much any language in a much shorter amount of time.
The second common excuse is that the only way to become fluent is to live in the country where the language is spoken. That may have been the case years ago, when the only way to come face to face with several speakers of a foreign language was to go to that country. But times have changed; we now live in the internet age. Through Glotsalot, our strategy is to turn virtually any available study time into an opportunity for direct contact with a friendly and supportive native speaker, without having to leave your home, let alone the country you live in.
The path to fluency via Glotsalot is by employing this same Natural Method, regularly speaking directly to a native who points out individualized room for improvement both in spoken and written form on a word by word or phrase by phrase basis.
Glotsalot’s strategy is simple; to mimic or re-create the Natural Method. We create a language learning environment where Language Learners can find great Teachers of the language they want to learn, and where Teachers can find plenty of willing, dedicated, long term students. Then we give both parties a way to schedule online video learning time together, either immediately through TutoNow, or for more convenient times scheduled in the future. Couple this with class feedback from both parties, and you have a natural language learning method that is fast, effective, efficient, and most importantly, fun!
